The following testing tools have been developed to help testers determine whether applications meet WCAG 2.0. Make sure to install them or be familiar with their location before you proceed with testing.
Web browsers
The browsers selected for accessibility testing should match those for general Quality Assurance (QA) testing. These should include:
- Chrome (Windows and Mac)
- Firefox (Windows and Mac)
- Safari (Mac)
Accessibility bookmarklets are links you can bookmark or favorite in your browser. The links contain Javascript that can run on any webpage to visualize information in the code. The bookmarklets only work with desktop/latptop browsers.
Add the bookmarklets by dragging them into your bookmarks bar or by copying the link address and adding them manually to your bookmarks manager.
Accessibility Bookmarklets are copies from the open source Accessibility Bookmarklet project.
